FUBON Talks Addresses Social Issues from the Front Lines

2026.04.15

Focus on fraud prevention, customer fairness, sustainability, and AI to prove execution

To encourage employees to drive innovation from the front lines and respond to evolving societal needs, the Fubon Group’s annual flagship event, “FUBON Talks,” was led by Daniel M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Group, and Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, and brought together employees from 10 subsidiaries on April 14. This year’s event focused on key issues including financial fraud prevention, fair customer treatment, sustainable development, and AI advancement. Drawing on first-hand experience from their daily work, Fubon employees shared concrete practices and insights, demonstrating the Group’s ongoing commitment to translating ideas into action and responding proactively to social challenges.

Daniel M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Group, stated that as Fubon marks its 65th anniversary, the Group has always regarded talent as its most important foundation. He expressed his hope that employees will embody the three core qualities of passion, professionalism, and compassion, and make a meaningful impact in their respective roles. The origins of Fubon Talks date back to 1980, when Wan Tsai Tsai, Former Chairman of Fubon Group, founded a speech competition with the aim of cultivating employees’ critical thinking and communication skills, ensuring that good ideas could be seen and heard. This spirit has endured over the decades, making the event an important tradition within Fubon’s corporate culture. While rooted in tradition, the program has continued to evolve through innovation—transforming from a speech contest into today’s FUBON Talks, and expanding its content to reflect contemporary societal needs, thereby showcasing Fubon employees’ deep sense of social commitment.

Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, noted that this year’s Fubon Talks continues to reflect Fubon’s core brand values of “integrity, friendliness, professionalism, and innovation”, while aligning with four key social topics: “financial fraud prevention, fair customer treatment, sustainable development, and AI advancement.” Unlike concept-driven discussions in the past, this year’s program places a stronger emphasis on practical, experience-based perspectives. Employees drew on their professional expertise and frontline service experience to illustrate how customer needs are addressed in real-world settings, making Fubon’s brand values visible through concrete actions and further linking financial services with broader social needs.

These frontline insights and actions have brought greater warmth and meaning to Fubon’s services. Some employees examined service process details to explore how financial services can better meet the needs of diverse customer groups; others, drawing on hands-on experience in fraud prevention, reexamined the frontline role of safeguarding customers. Still others integrated AI tools with professional expertise to streamline operations, enhancing service efficiency and quality.

As Fubon celebrates its 65th anniversary, this year’s Fubon Talks specially incorporated the themes of legacy and sustainability into its event design. In addition to carrying forward the spirit of Wan Tsai Tsai, Former Chairman of Fubon Group, through the event’s main visual identity, the program also invited past award-winning participants of FUBON Talks to join the event. Their presence added a meaningful highlight of cross-generational exchange, underscoring the continuity of Fubon’s values and commitment across generations.

In addition, Fubon Financial Holdings established the “United by Purpose™” corporate philanthropy platform in 2025 to further expand employee participation in community service initiatives. Total volunteer service hours reached 41,708 hours over the year. This year’s Fubon Talks also specially recognized the top 10 employees with the highest volunteer service hours, inviting them to receive commendations at the event. The recognition acknowledged their commitment to putting the spirit of service into action and extending Fubon’s corporate influence to communities across society.

This year’s Fubon Talks also invited experts from both industry and academia to serve as judges, including Chuan-Hsing Lin, Director at KPMG Sustainability Consulting, stand-up comedian and host Huang Hao-Ping, and news anchor and television producer Meng-Lan Shu. Drawing on their diverse professional perspectives, the judges provided in-depth feedback that helped deepen employees’ ideas and translate their insights into more practical and actionable outcomes.

FUBON Talks is more than just a stage—it represents a culture of ongoing dialogue and continuous growth. Looking ahead, Fubon will continue to uphold its brand spirit of “Be Positive, All Possible™,” working hand in hand with employees to ensure that more voices from the front lines are heard. Through these collective efforts, even the smallest changes can add up to a powerful force driving both the company and society forward.
