Supporting the “Long-term Services for Vegetative Patients and Providing Meals for the Needy” program to help disadvantaged families enjoy a warm and hopeful New Year

To help more disadvantaged families enjoy a warm and hopeful New Year, Fubon Group has been continuously supporting the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation’s “Long-term Services for Vegetative Patients and Providing Meals for the Needy” program since 2017. This year marks the tenth consecutive year of contribution, with cumulative donations exceeding NT$120 million. In 2026, Fubon donated NT$13.25 million, of which NT$4.25 million was designated for the “Planting Love New Year Gifts” initiative, while the remaining NT$9 million will support year-round care services for vegetative patients. Through these efforts, Fubon aims to spread love and compassion with positive energy, using the power of corporate influence to inspire broader participation from society. At this meaningful time of year, Fubon calls on the public to join in supporting disadvantaged communities, helping them welcome the New Year with warmth and dignity.

For many years, the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation has been dedicated to serving disadvantaged groups, including families of vegetative patients, homeless and impoverished individuals, single‑parent households, and isolated seniors. Its fundraising initiative, the“Long-term Services for Vegetative Patients and Providing Meals for the Needy,” has now been held for 35 consecutive years. In recent years, the widespread adoption of cloud‑based invoices has posed significant challenges for the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, which relies heavily on the prize money from donated paper invoices to fund its care services for vegetative patients. The shift toward digital invoices has resulted in a more than 40% decline in collected paper invoices, causing fundraising progress to fall behind. However, the Foundation’s essential services—including long‑term care for vegetative patients and support for vulnerable groups—can not be interrupted for even a single day. In addition to actively promoting the donation of cloud‑based invoices, stable contributions from corporations and individual donors have become increasingly vital to sustaining the foundation’s mission.

Fubon Group, guided by the spirit of “feeling others’ hunger as our own,” has supported the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation every year since 2017. This marks the tenth consecutive year of its commitment. In addition to its ongoing donations to the “Long‑term Services for Vegetative Patients and Providing Meals for the Needy” program and other year‑round service funds, Fubon Group also makes periodic in‑kind contributions of essential care supplies for vegetative patients, such as diapers and wet wipes. Through these continued acts of support, the Group hopes to spread love and compassion with positive energy, encouraging the public to join in caring for disadvantaged communities and putting into practice its commitment to the philosophy of “common good with society.”

Starting today (2nd), the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation launched its “Planting Love New Year Gifts” home‑delivery campaign. In celebration of the Year of the Horse, the Foundation themed the event“Full Speed Ahead—Bringing Gifts Right to You!,” symbolizing the powerful momentum of compassion. A Harley motorcycle team known for its dedication to charity led the kickoff, with 15 heavy motorcycles revving their engines to signal the start, embodying the spirit of full horsepower and unwavering love. Chen Chien‑Jen, Former Vice President, Lu Chien‑Te, Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare, Lin Shu‑E, Taipei City Deputy Commissioner of Social Welfare, and Cheng Chi‑Nan, Director of Fubon Charity Foundation, served as “gift ambassadors,” visiting families of vegetative patients to deliver New Year care packages and blessing red envelopes. The gift set includes seven auspicious festive dishes, allowing disadvantaged families to enjoy nutritious and abundant New Year meals with ease. The red envelopes symbolize warm wishes, and the team also helped the families put up Spring Festival couplets, bringing festive cheer and ushering in good fortune for the coming year.

Fubon Group has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for more than six decades. Guided by the principle of “giving back to society what we receive from society,” the Group has long leveraged its eight affiliated foundations to build a comprehensive platform for holistic public welfare and social care. Among these, the Fubon Charity Foundation stands as the first public welfare organization established by the Fubon Group. Upholding the spirit of “integrating resources to develop a charitable platform and continuously supporting society's vulnerable groups,” it consolidates relevant resources to leverage the power of its public welfare platform. This enables the delivery of compassion to every corner of society where it is needed, harnessing positive forces to achieve the common good of society.
