Assist young students in gaining a multifaceted understanding of the practical operations of legal affairs in the financial industry, thereby nurturing and cultivating a new generation of legal talent

To cultivate outstanding legal talent and help more young students gain a deeper understanding of legal practices in the financial industry, Fubon Financial Holdings and Taipei Fubon Bank actively supported the “Municipal Operations and Local Legal Practice Training Program” promoted by the Department of Legal Affairs of the Taipei City Government. Today (12th), the two institutions jointly organized a lecture and onsite visit in collaboration with the Department of Legal Affairs, Taipei City Government. A total of 65 law students from universities across Taipei City and New Taipei City participated in the event. Through lectures covering legal practices across both financial holding and banking operations, as well as branch tours, students were given the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the legal governance framework of financial institutions. The program also introduced key concepts such as the principles for financial service industries to treat customers fairly and practical approaches to anti‑fraud, laying a strong foundation for nurturing the next generation of legal professionals.

Jerry Harn, President of Fubon Financial Holdings, emphasized that the steady development of the financial industry relies on a sound legal system and the support of professional legal talent. This course covers topics including financial holding company board affairs, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, and legal affairs. It further integrates critical issues such as for financial service industries to treat customers fairly and practical approaches to anti‑fraud. Students will also participate in field visits to bank branches, aiming to help law students gain a deep understanding of the key role of law in financial governance from both institutional and practical perspectives. Through diverse coursework and practical exchanges, the program aims to help participating students validate theoretical knowledge against industry practices. It also cultivates financial legal professionals with legal literacy and cross-disciplinary perspectives, laying a more solid foundation for their future career development.

This workshop covered diverse topics within the financial industry. Fubon Financial Holdings provided an in-depth overview of career development opportunities for law students within the group, including roles in compliance, legal affairs, anti-money laundering, and corporate governance, demonstrating comprehensive career planning. Taipei Fubon Bank introduced “A Day in the Life of an Institutional Lawyer,” sharing banking legal practices and classic cases from the perspective of institutional lawyer. “Highlights of Implementing Treating Customers Fairly” emphasized corporate social impact, detailing the bank's continued focus this year on anti-fraud strategies. The bank has invested resources in developing advanced fraud prevention technologies while strengthening fair customer treatment management and deepening financial empowerment. The “Eagle Eye Anti‑Fraud Achievements–2026 Campus Anti‑Fraud” course focused on financial security and anti-fraud practices, enhancing students' risk awareness. Following the sessions, the bank also invited students to tour its City Hall Branch located on the first floor of Taipei City Hall, showcasing its barrier-free, accessible service environment. Through these financial topic discussions and site visits, the bank aims to deepen students' understanding of the practical operational aspects of the financial industry.

In order to enhance talent development and draw in high-quality professionals, Fubon Financial Holdings has consistently advocated for collaboration between industry and academia. Together with the Department of Legal Affairs of the Taipei City Government, we are providing legal education courses and arranging site visits aimed at fostering young students who possess a robust understanding of legal principles and practical abilities. Concurrently, we aspire to entice more exceptional legal talent to become part of Fubon Financial Holdings and work together to create a positive impact on society.
