Fubon Financial Holdings has Achieved the Highest Leadership Level A from CDP for two Consecutive Years and Led the Way Towards a Low-carbon and Sustainable Future
Fubon Financial Holdings’ achievements in climate governance have once to the latest announcement of the 2025 CDP Climate Change Questionnaire, Fubon Financial Holdings has retained the highest Leadership Level rating of “A.” This distinction marks the company’s second consecutive year receiving an A score and its sixth consecutive year being recognized at the leadership level. The continued recognition underscores Fubon Financial Holdings’ steadfast commitment to climate governance and highlights its leadership role in advancing decarbonization actions and strengthening environmental resilience.
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is one of the most authoritative global nonprofit organizations in the environmental field, employing an independent and rigorous methodology to assess corporate performance across multiple dimensions, including the depth of information disclosure, the level of awareness of environmental risks, the ambition of target setting, and the effectiveness of implementation actions. Through the implementation of comprehensive sustainability governance policies, Fubon Financial Holdings achieved A ratings in 12 out of the 17 assessment categories under the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire. These categories span key areas such as governance, environmental policies, risk and opportunity management, investment portfolio impact, public policy engagement and industry collaboration.

With respect to decarbonization of its own operations, Fubon Financial Holdings joined the RE100 initiative in 2022, committing to the use of 100% renewable electricity across its global operations by 2040. As of the end of 2024, the Group’s green power usage rate had reached 16.4%, demonstrating steady progress toward its RE100 commitment. In terms of business development, Fubon Financial Holdings has established sector-specific access and exit criteria for high carbon–intensive and climate-sensitive industries. In 2025, the Group further announced a more ambitious decarbonization roadmap, committing to a complete exit from investments and underwriting activities related to thermal coal by the end of 2030, and from non-conventional oil and gas by the end of 2040, except where counterparties have presented credible transition plans aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement. In addition, Fubon Financial Holdings seeks to drive low-carbon transformation across the value chain by leveraging its scale and influence to “leverage its larger capabilities to support smaller entities.” Beyond actively engaging customers through workshops on Science-Based Targets (SBTs) and reference guidelines for the identification of sustainable economic activities, the Group also organizes annual ESG engagement programs for suppliers, including forums, training sessions, assessments, and dialogues. Through these initiatives, Fubon Financial Holdings aims to collaborate with industry stakeholders to create shared value and build a resilient, low-carbon, and sustainable value chain.
