Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, has received another great honor! Following his appointment as a member of the "Order of St. Sylvester" by Pope Francis earlier this year, he has now been awarded the Presidential Medal by New York University (NYU). Chairman Richard M. Tsai not only becomes the 73rd recipient of this prestigious award, but also the first Taiwanese to receive this distinction.

NYU announced that Chairman Richard M. Tsai graduated from the Stern School of Business at NYU in 1981. He is not only a renowned entrepreneur and dedicated philanthropist, but also a member of NYU’s President’s Global Council and NYU Stern Executive Board. Due to Chairman Tsai's achievements in the global business arena and his continuous support in helping students achieve their educational dreams at NYU, as well as the university's mission to become a premier global institution of higher education, NYU has decided to award Chairman Tsai with the Presidential Medal in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments and contributions.

Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, expresses his deep gratitude for the nurturing and recognition he received from his alma mater. Since graduating from the Stern School of Business at NYU, he has dedicated himself to the financial industry for over 40 years. Under his leadership, Fubon has transformed from a small property and casualty insurance company into a "financial department store" with subsidiaries in life insurance, bank, securities, investment trust, and venture capital. Additionally, he has initiated various social welfare projects such as Fubon Guardians, Fubon Braves, and Fubon Art Museum. It is a great honor for him to receive this recognition from his alma mater, as it not only acknowledges his achievements in the business field but also serves as a driving force for him to constantly remind himself to do his best in contributing to a better world.

NYU is recognized as one of the leading century-old institutions worldwide, with the Stern School of Business having accumulated a distinguished reputation and outstanding academic achievements over the past hundred years. In 2018, Fubon Financial Holdings collaborated with the Stern School of Business to establish "The Fubon Center for Technology, Business and Innovation," aiming to advance the development of technology business innovation and establish a talent pool for Fintech. In 2023, post-pandemic, Fubon Financial Holdings also hosted visit of EMBA students from the Stern School of Business to Taiwan, sharing with them the recent progress and successful cases in areas such as risk management, ESG, Fintech, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and AI applications.
