Equality in the Workplace

Fubon Financial Holdings embraces the core values of integrity, sincerity, professionalism and innovation when serving customers and insisting on treating all employees with a fair, impartial, attentive and caring attitude. We respect workplace diversity, and any individual with the requisite ability and qualifications for a position will be treated equally and not discriminated against regardless of race, class, language, ideology, religion, political affiliation, birthplace, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, appearance, facial features, disabilities or any other factor. Appropriate HR management guidelines, covering organization management, recruiting and hiring, attendance, compensation, employee rewards and punishment, training development, employee relations, and insurance benefits, have been established to create a fair and healthy work environment free of discrimination and sexual harassment.

Fubon firmly believes that every employee should be treated fairly and with respect and that the organization should embrace the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and respect internationally recognized human rights. Fubon is committed to upholding and respecting the core labor standards articulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Labor Organization declarations. No human rights violations or incidents of gender discrimination or discrimination against indigenous peoples have occurred this year.

Because Fubon’s operations are mostly in Taiwan, the vast majority of our employees come from Taiwan. We have always abided by labor laws, and we do not hire child workers. If we hire a foreign national, the hiring is handled based on two statutes: the Employment Services Act and the Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers. Fubon also complies with Republic of China statutes and International Labor Organization directives that strictly prohibit all forms of forced labor, and we have never forced or coerced individuals to perform tasks they were unwilling to do.
